TapRite Ball Lock Easy Keg Conversion Kit 4.3 5 4 4
Tap-Rite Ball Lock Easy Keg Conversion Kit Good instructions, makes it a snap to convert from keg to keg. March 8, 2013
Kegged Homebrew is Better The tap conversion kit is exactly what I was looking for. I brew my own beer and wanted to start kegging instead of hassling with bottles every time I brewed a batch. The only problem is that sankey couplers are the standard and homebrew kegs (Corny kegs) have the ball lock fittings. The instructions were pretty straightforward and the kit includes parts to modify a sankey D coupler to fit the beer and gas lines you've modified with the ball lock fittings. Basically you can use the lines for BOTH ball lock AND sankey kegs. Huge for me since sometimes I still buy kegs from the store (sankey tap required). Very happy with how it turned out. Good Company to work with! The conversion kit was easy to install. The kit is to change out the center mount Sankey keg coupler with a home brew coupler which has separate gas/in, beer/out couplers. One issue I ran into was the gas line and coupler line were different sizes. The CO2 line from the bottle was 3/8" and the coupling connection was 1/4". I had to go get a reducer and another hose clamp. The reducer was not supplied. Other than that it was great! January 23, 2014
Works Well after some modification The conversion kit works well enough now. It was ordered as a package with an Edgestar dual tap kegerator. The problem was that each kit came with 2 hose barbs that were each 1/4". However the beer lines and CO2 lines from the tap tower were different sizes. the 1/4" barb fit the beer lines but not the CO2 lines. I solved the problem with a trip to Lowe's and fit together a reducer out of brass fittings. Now it works well and I have used it both with a standard Sankey keg and with my home-brew corny kegs. It's (now) very easy to go back and forth between the two if needed. January 1, 2014
